At the end of 2019, TECNALIA participates in 295 H2020 projects, coordinating 61 of them.<\/p>\n

Several cross-cutting expert teams support the technology divisions of TECNALIA, among them the expert group POINT – Policies for Innovation and Technology, which links the technological challenges to the policy and strategy intelligence at local, regional and European level. The team includes senior policy analysts that have a strong track record in R&I policy evaluation and extensive experience on working with key topics of SC5. The team is supported by wider technological expert pool of TECNALIA.<\/p>\n

Role in the project<\/strong><\/p>\n

TECNALIA is in charge of the overall coordination of IMPACT-SC5.<\/strong> It leads WP6 Management and Coordination, as well as WP1 Evaluation framework and actively participates in all other WPs, leading Tasks 2.1 Literature review and 3.1 Portfolio definition and assessment.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row type=”color” bg_color=”#efefef”][vc_column][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

Joint Institute for Innovation Policy (JIIP)<\/strong><\/a><\/span><\/h1>\n

[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row type=”color” bg_color=”#efefef”][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text]The Joint Institute for Innovation Policy (JIIP)\u00a0<\/strong><\/a>is a joint venture of four renowned Research and Technology Organisations (RTOs) from four different European countries:\u00a0Joanneum\u00a0Research (JR, Austria),\u00a0Tecnalia\u00a0(Spain), TNO (The Netherlands) and VTT (Finland). One of the competitive strengths of the JIIP partnership lies in the interdisciplinary nature of its parent institutes and the subsequent cross-over and added value for the services JIIP can offer and deliver. The partnership involves a core pool of around 170 researchers in relevant units of the four partner organisations.<\/p>\n

The mission of JIIP is to provide intelligence to support policy-making, with a focus on research, innovation and technology policy. Its expertise covers all aspects of qualitative and quantitative economic and social research and all current projects are being undertaken to support policy-analysis. JIIP has long years of experience and strong competence in data collection, qualitative and quantitative research in economic and social fields, as well as policy evaluation and assessment activities: from ex-ante evaluations to impact assessments and ex-post evaluations and foresight, resulting in topic-specific policy advice and guidelines.<\/p>\n

Role in the project<\/strong><\/p>\n

In the framework of IMPACT-SC5, JIIP will lead the<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong>work on<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong>contextualisation and<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong>analysis<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong>of the projects and of the project portfolios<\/strong>, together with\u00a0Q-PLAN, Tecnalia\u00a0and VTT.\u00a0 JIIP will also lead the work on dissemination and outreach<\/strong>, including the\u00a0organisation and implementation of the Final dissemination workshop.\u00a0In addition, JIIP will contribute to: (i) the development of indicators for the impact assessment of the projects and portfolios, as of the\u00a0identification of data source; (ii) the data collection\u00a0according\u00a0to the\u00a0methodologies\u00a0outlined in Exploration of SC5 projects;\u00a0(iii) the development of the policy recommendations.\u00a0Lastly, JIIP will ensure the quality control of the project.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/2″]

[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row type=”color” bg_color=”#efefef”][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text]Q-PLAN INTERNATIONAL<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0is an\u00a0innovation and management consulting company that focuses on the provision of\u00a0innovation and business support services\u00a0to the European Commission as well as to innovative SMEs operating in various market sectors (e.g. Environment, Energy, Manufacturing, ICT, Health, Transport,\u00a0Agro-food, etc.), enabling them to effectively and timely seize opportunities for investment and growth at national and international level.<\/p>\n

Q-PLAN has been actively involved in the European R&I landscape from 2003 onwards, and since then has participated in\u00a0more than 40 EU-funded projects\u00a0and studies (H2020, FP7, FP6), in most cases as project coordinator.\u00a0In the framework of these projects, it\u00a0has elaborated numerous<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong>knowledge transfer\/ networking and collaboration\/ innovation management activities<\/strong>, and more specifically: it has\u00a0designed and successfully implemented numerous<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong>large and niche-directed surveys<\/strong> (utilising online and offline techniques);\u00a0interviews<\/strong>\u00a0with various stakeholders on regional, national and European level; identification of<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong>good practices<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong>and<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong>reporting of case studies<\/strong>; translation of research outcomes in<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Actionable Knowledge<\/strong> toolkits<\/strong>;\u00a0organisation and implementation of\u00a0co-creation and validation events<\/strong>\u00a0on regional, national and European level; and synthesis of information for the extraction of valuable\u00a0policy level conclusions and recommendations.<\/p>\n

During the elaboration of IMPACT-SC5, Q-PLAN will be mainly responsible for d<\/strong>esigning and implementing an individualised survey<\/strong> to collect information on the impacts of the 87 projects under scrutiny as well as conducting targeted interviews with the coordinators these projects<\/strong> as well as selected project partners. Moreover, the company is responsible for<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong>compiling the<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong>data already available<\/strong> as well as statistically<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong>analyse<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong>all the<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong>obtained<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong>data<\/strong>\u00a0to serve the overall assessment of\u00a0these projects.
